Porsche Driving Experience - Yas Marina F1 Circuit Abu Dhabi

On Friday 13th another Porsche Club UAE event got underway, where over 100 Porsches met, ranging from Boxster’s to GT3 RS’s.
The event started in the lobby of the main grandstand at Yas Marina Grand Prix Race track at 5:45 pm. Registration started at 5:55pm and closed at 7:15pm for novice and club participants. Master participants were able to turn up at 7:30pm and the gates closed at 8:00pm. All drivers had to attend a drivers meeting at 8:30pm which lasted for 15 minutes. This consisted of the explanation of racing flags, session timings and safety. Soon after everyone was led downstairs to where all the cars were parked before the adrenaline filled night of racing began.
All seemed very relaxed while the drivers were gearing up and making sure their cars were race ready. It was when the “start engines” call came through that things got very interesting. The noise coming out of this pit lane was insane, a real thrill. The groups then made their way out on to the track one at a time.
The drivers raced their cars around the Yas Marina Grand Prix circuit for hours. It was a real show watching these sports and supercars blast it around the track and hearing the stories of “close calls” and “most satisfying moments” some of these drivers had throughout the night was a great experience. After lots of best laps and fuel stops the racing came to an end at midnight. The event was a success and all participants thoroughly enjoyed it, with many saying it was the best of the year for the Porsche Club UAE’s driving season.
Once the driving was over everyone was invited to party the rest of the night away on the rooftop of the Viceroy Hotel.
The Porsche Uae Club’s next event will take place in September 2016 after summer.
