Luxury and performance make for a steamy couple in the automotive realm. The Angelina and Brad Pitt, if you will. Thus, it is no surprise why offerings such as Audi’s RS-line, BMW’s M-Division and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG lineup, all make petrolheads weak in the knees.

Posaidon, a tuner based out of Germany and one with extensive experience in fettling with Mercedes-Benz and Maybach vehicles, has introduced the world to its newest creation, a truly mental and downright outrageous E63 AMG.

Producing a mindboggling 1,020 horsepower and 1,400 Nm of torque, the Posaidon RS850+ is the most powerful road-going Mercedes-Benz to date. How were such monumental figures achieved, you may ask? Well, by ditching the stock turbochargers, upgrading to bigger and more efficient turbochargers and intercoolers, and also retuning the ECU to squeeze out more power.

Following a substantial increase in power, the next step saw the German tuner upgrade the gearbox and fit custom limited slip differentials to both, front and rear axles. In order to save weight, trim pieces from the door panels were removed and lighter seats were fitted, while carbon fiber was used on the hood, bumper, rear diffuser, spoiler, mirror caps and tailpipes.

So, what does all this power and weight-saving equal to? We’re looking at a 0 – 100km/h sprint in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 368 km/h – limited at 350 km/h due to tire limitations. Now that my friends, is impressive!
