Presenting the Agera One:1

Posted by on Mar 3, 2014

Koenigsegg – a name synonymous with outrageous performance figures has done it again with its new Agera. Presenting the world’s first ‘megacar’ as they term it because it churns out 1 megawatt of power (1,341 BHP) but that’s not the surprising feat as we have seen much more. The most astonishing is the power to weight ratio i.e. 1 kg – 1 HP and the car is named One:1. Not even Veyron achieved such an amazing performance figure.

All this power is accomplished by fine tuning the 5.0 liter twin-turbo V8 to produce 1,341 HP and 1,011 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and e-diff. Moreover, the geniuses at Koenigsegg fitted this Agera with custom 3D-printed housings and titanium exhaust. Koenigsegg claims top speed wasn’t the goal behind developing this car but as per in-house simulations, it can reach a top speed of 440 km/h – more than a Veyron. So, this can make it the world’s fastest production vehicle but it still won’t enter into Guiness as only 6 examples will be made and they are already have buyers.

The Agera One:1 is the next technical marvel after the Veyron and we would like to know how it performs in reality as no one beside Koenigsegg has tested this car out yet.
