Dubai’s public transport users can now enjoy free parking at bus and Metro stations.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, ordered this move.

The 2009 resolution was amended to let the public transport users have free parking spaces, including the Metro, for 24 hours.

For those who want to park but are not using public transportation will have to pay Dh10 to park up to 5 hours, and Dh50 for more than that. Parking for six months will cost Dh3,000 and for 12 months it will cost Dh5,000.

Anyone who parks without a permit or who exceeds their limited time will be fined Dh100 a day for a maximum of 10 days.

This will be effective the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
