This week I had received a very unusual car. I am not sure what should I call it – a car, a van, a rickshaw. I am still figuring out. But one thing is for sure, it is the first of its kind in this market. It is an alien among the sophisticated vehicles of UAE. It is because whenever we think about cars of GCC, we don’t think anything less than the premium segment as that has become the norm in this region. But here comes a Daihatsu rebranded as a Toyota to attract the masses as people here detest the name Daihatsu but are ready to chop an arm off for a Toyota. Targeted at the lowest of low segments, let’s find out what does it feel like to own a cheap Daihatsu and should it really be sold here.
