RTA reviewing Salik post midnight

Dubai, UAE - Roads and Telecommunication Authority (RTA) might reduce or waive Salik post midnight on the two new upcoming toll gates after April 15th, as reported in Khaleej Times.

The two new gates to be operational will be at Mamzar and Dubai Airport Tunnel. RTA will conduct traffic analysis first, after which it might reduce or waive Salik charges post midnight.

Another analyis by RTA will include reviewing daily limit of 24 AED per person. If this limit is seen as inefficient, it is likely to be increased.

If this gets implemented, it will be good news for those dreading the new toll gates. It remains to be seen how much it will affect current traffic patterns.
