Special needs cabs in Abu Dhabi

A special taxi service for people with special needs has been introduced by The Centre for Regulations of Transport by Hire Cars of the Department of Transport (DoT) on Tuesday.

Eight Mercedes Vito vehicles have been launched for the project which both men and women will be driving it in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain as a beginning.

“The new service is in line with the centre’s aspirations of pioneering in taxi services as per the best international practices whilst constantly endeavouring to ensure highest level of services that are on a par with Abu Dhabi’s objectives,” said Masood Mohammed Hashem, Assistant General Manager of Compliance, Licensing and Customer Service.

The vehicles are specially designed to meet high quality and standards with technologies that help the disabled people of all ages to be secure and comfortable.
