The Aston Martin Valour is the ultimate V12-engined manual supercar swansong

An Aston Martin with a V12 engine mated to a manual gearbox. Sounds like the perfect British supercar, right? Let’s meet it then: behold the Aston Martin Valour.

The Valour celebrates Aston Martin’s 110th birthday. With its retro design cues, the old-school recipe of a V12 being mated to a manual gearbox, Aston says that the Valour is "the last of an era."

Primarily, the Valour echoes the design of the V8 Vantage of the 1970s and 80s. The clamshell hood with a "horseshoe" vent and retro rounded headlights make the Valour look simply gorgeous to look at from the front. At the rear, the supercar has horizontal "light blade" tail lights (previously seen on the Vulcan and other Aston one-offs) and a large embedded spoiler.

The Valour sits on glorious 21-inch lightweight forged alloy honeycomb wheels. 21 standard exterior colors are available with customers also having the option to make their car more bespoke with Aston’s Q branch and can even opt for an exposed carbon fiber body.

The interior’s classic woolen tweed is a nod to the 1959 Le Mans-winning DBR1. The wool is blended with modern stuff like carbon fiber accents and lightweight seats. Our favorite part of the interior is the rounded wooden shift knob. Just look at it!

Under the hood, the Valour has a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter producing 705 horsepower and 753 Newton-meters of torque. The V12, along with the "bespoke" six-speed manual transmission it is mated to, is described by Aston themselves as a “mouth-watering, end-of-an-era specification.”

But the Valour has a lot more than the V12 and manual gearbox as it gets a unique suspension that utilizes adaptive dampers and anti-roll bars. It also gets additional bracing at the front and rear for enhanced torsional and lateral stiffness. The brakes are also top-notch with six-piston, 16.0-inch carbon ceramic rotors at the front and four-piston, 14.0-inch rotors at the back.

Only 110 Aston Martin Valours will be made (the number coming from you know where) and the pricing hasn’t been revealed yet. The deliveries are scheduled for later this year, with production set to begin in Q3 of 2023.
