The Hyundai RN30 is the hot hatch you have been waiting for

At a recent event, Hyundai Motor Company shared the first glimpse of its latest high-performance N Concept, the RN30, which will celebrate its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Motorsport bred, the RN30 aims to challenge the likes of the Ford Focus ST and deliver an exhilarating experience behind the wheel.

Based on the striking all-new Hyundai i30, the RN30 is developed in close collaboration with Hyundai Motorsport (HMSG), Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) and Hyundai Motor’s Performance Development & High Performance Vehicle Division.

“This is an insight into how Hyundai’s global technical resources can create a truly thrilling driver’s car, and a testament to the already superb engineering of the New Generation i30 that underpins the project,” said Mike Song, Head of Operations for Hyundai in Africa and the Middle East. “It also previews some of the qualities that will be built into the planned ‘N’ models, which will offer a new level of excitement for enthusiasts.”

With rumors claiming a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is what resides under the hood, figures are expected to be around the 260 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque mark. Equipped with a mechanical limited slip differential, the Korean hot hatch will control wheel spin and offer better traction when challenging corners flat out.

Further details shall be revealed at the upcoming Paris Motor Show which is to be held from 1st to 16th October 2016.
