Ever since its launch, the Kia EV6 has stolen the souls of customers and well-known car journalists all around the world. Many have even said that it is the perfect EV out there in the market right now as it is affordable, has loads of space, a very competent range and some stunning looks.

And so it doesn’t come as a surprise that it has been named the European Car of the Year for 2021. Kia’s electric masterpiece beat the runner up  Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric, Hyundai Ioniq 5 (the EV6’s sibling), the Peugeot 308, Skoda Enyaq, Ford Mustang Mach E and Cupra Born.

The EV6 is the first Kia to win the coveted award and the third EV that has won the crown. The ceremony was held at the Palexpo exhibition centre in Geneva, Switzerland - which would’ve hosted the 2022 Geneva Motor Show later this month, but it won’t because of the motor show’s cancellation for the third year running. *SOB*

Jason Jeong, President at Kia Europe, commented: “It’s a great honour to have won the 2022 European Car of the Year with the EV6, the first ever Kia to win this prestigious award. The EV6 is truly a landmark development that’s been designed from the outset to make electric mobility fun, convenient and accessible by combining a highly impressive real-world driving range, ultra-fast charging capabilities, a spacious high-tech interior and a truly rewarding driving experience.”
