Days after images of the Mercedes Maybach G650 Landaulet leaked online, the German marque has officially unveiled the outlandish vehicle as a farewell to the current-generation model. Featuring bits and pieces of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 and the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4², the Mercedes Maybach G650 is the first ever SUV to adorn the Maybach insignia.

With just 99 examples to be produced, the G650 Landaulet retains the extreme off-road capability of its siblings without sacrificing on exclusivity or luxury. Beneath the hulking bodywork resides a 6.0-liter BiTurbo V12 engine that produces 630 horsepower and a tarmac rippling 1,000 Nm of torque.

Portal axles, differential locks, and a low ratio transfer case, all work in conjunction with a breathtaking 450mm of ground clearance and a set of 325/55 R22 wheels, to carry the German luxo-barge over anything and everything in its path.

The retractable fabric roof, which can be had in three different colors, provides rear seat occupants with an open cockpit experience that is heightened with the same rear seats that embellish the S-Class. Therefore, a host of massage options, including a hot stone massage, thermal cup holders, and two tables that fold out of the center console, are all standard affair.

The G650 Landaulet is set to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show that runs from 9th to 19th March 2017.
