Toyota Launches 2018 Corolla In The UAE

Al Futtaim Motors, the sole distributor of Toyota in UAE, has announced the launch of the 2018 Corolla with a choice of two enjoyable engines, a 1.6-liter four-cylinder and a punchier 2.0-liter unit. Having offered individuals, the opportunity to buy new Toyota cars at reduced rates during the holy month of Ramadan, the launch of the new Corolla comes fresh off the heels of one of the busiest automotive purchasing periods in the country.

Retaining the modern design of the outgoing model, the latest iteration of Toyota’s crowd-pleaser features a premium interior, outstanding fuel efficiency, and a host of new safety features across the range. The Multi Drive 7S transmission is credited with improving fuel efficiency by up to 27% in comparison to its nearest rival.

“For more than fifty years, the Corolla has been the workhorse that many Emiratis have depended on for their daily commutes around the UAE. It is a symbol of the quality, durability and reliability that has become synonymous with Toyota,” said Saud Abbasi, Managing Director of Toyota at Al-Futtaim Motors.

On the safety front, the 2018 Toyota Corolla is armed with several standard safety features including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), a Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS), and rear fog lamps. Distinguishing the higher trim models are standard Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), LED headlights, automatic headlight levelling, a sunroof, and automatic air conditioning.

Available in three trims (SE, SE+, Limited) the 1.6-liter engine delivers 121 horsepower and 154 Nm of torque to the front wheels, while the more potent 2.0-liter unit pushes out 143 horsepower and 187 Nm of torque.

Remote door locking, a CD player, AUX & USB audio inputs, Bluetooth telephony, steering wheel controls, dual airbags, cruise control and parking sensors, are all standard equipment in the 1.6-liter SE trim, with the 2.0-liter benefitting from larger 15-inch alloys and a six-speaker sound system.

Valid across all Toyota showrooms in Dubai and across the country, prices for the 1.6-liter SE, SE+, and Limited trims are AED 67,500, AED 69,900, and AED 73,900 respectively. Those looking for more punch can opt for the 2.0-liter model that flaunts a price tag of AED 71,500 for the SE trim, AED 74,900 for the SE+, and AED 78,900 for the fully-loaded Limited.
