Toyota’s Yaris Hybrid-R concept will be revealed for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show soon, but Toyota released some details about its special engineering qualities ahead of the release. In designing this car, Toyota wanted to create a supermini concept based on the 3-door production model.

The powertrain will feature a 1.6 L petrol Global Race Engine and 2 powerful electric motors that will give the car an intelligent electric all-wheel drive. The engine is also a turbocharged 4-cylider unit and produces up to 414 horsepower.

And just like in the Toyota Racing TS030 Hybrid race car, energy recovered under braking is stored in a supercapacitor.

Check out the pictures we got of the supermini concept, Yaris Hybrid-R by Toyota.
