Venom GT is world's fastest car

Posted by on Feb 25, 2014

Henessey has achieved what it does best – breaking speed records. Yes, the Venom GT has set a new world record for maximum top speed, reaching 270.49 mph (432.8 kmph). This feat was made on 14th Feb on a long runway at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. However, it won’t make it to the Guiness Book of World records as the car must complete two runs in opposite directions to calculate the average top speed. The Venom was only able to complete one run as NASA didn’t allow the second. Also, to qualify for a ‘production vehicle’ as per Guiness, the manufacturer should make 30 examples of the car but Henessey is only planning 29 Venoms. The current record holder is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport reaching speeds of 267.81 mph (428.5 kmph).

You can watch the amazing feat in the video below.
