When Dodge released the beefed up SRT Hellcat, it made every enthusiast’s spidey-sense tingle. The car which is touted as ‘the most powerful American production ever’ does raise a few eye brows. However, with a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 producing a mammoth 707 BHP and 881 Nm of torque, it seemed far-fetched. Moreover, transferring all that power on to the road is another challenge. So, people did have questions on whether this car can just talk the talk or can it really walk the walk.

Well, good news. Dodge has been busy testing this beast and has released the official times for the drag strip quarter mile. The Hellcat ran the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds on street tires and 10.8 seconds on drag specials. Comparatively speaking, a 660 BHP Shelby GT500 took 11.6 seconds whereas the 580 BHP Camaro ZL1 completed the quarter mile in 12.1 seconds.
