Video: BMW M4 Coupe Drifts on Aircraft Carrier

BMW has been on a spree. They have recently produced quite a few new models to include in their line-up. This includes the 2-series, 3-series GT and of course, the 4-series. The whole idea behind creating a new series is to differentiate between the sedan and coupe. Earlier, the 3-series had sedans as well as coupes but I guess it was hard for BMW to identify and so they now have kept 3-series only for sedans and 4-series as coupes. And, if there is a new series, there will definitely be an M-tuned version as well. So, here’s presenting the M4 Coupe – an M-tuned 4-series made with only one purpose, performance. Sharing the powertrain with the M3 sedan, this car spoils the customers to choose between a 4-door and a 2-door.

Some short specs of M4:

- 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 engine

- 7 speed dual clutch gearbox

- 430 BHP and 550 Nm of torque

- Front-engine sports car

- RWD

- Curb weight: 1600 kg

- Carbon fiber reinforced plastic body

- Active sound: Amplification of exhaust sound transmitted through speakers

- 0-100 in 4 seconds

- Top speed: 250 km/h

The M4, as well as M3, now feature a turbocharged V6 as compared to a V8 which has been the topic of ridicule as the purists dislike the feel of the turbo and want the raw performance of a naturally aspirated engine. But, BMW’s hands are also tied as the manufacturers need to comply with the new laws of fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. Hence, turbos are the sure-shot answer.
