At a small, private event that took place at the brand’s Dubai showroom, Volkswagen pulled the wraps off its newest and smallest entrant into the SUV segment – the T-Roc. Being the first subcompact SUV from the brand, the T-Roc is targeted towards millennials and is fittingly offered in a vast array of hues and customization options.

Its bold styling is a testament to its target market and sets it up well for success against Japanese and Korean competitors such as the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, and the Kia Seltos. Moreover, its starting price in the range of AED 75,000 is bound to make it stand out amongst its rivals.

For power, the T-Roc is fitted with a 1.4-liter TSI engine that puts out 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful contenders in the segment. Sharing the group’s MQB platform with other models such as the Volkswagen Jetta and Audi Q2, the T-Roc measures 4,240mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,603mm.

The T-Roc features a simple-to-use infotainment system, with an 8.0-inch display - one of the best in the class and fits in well with the wireless AppConnect. It is also one of the first SUVs in its class to offer optional digital instruments in Active Info Display which sits behind the steering wheel itself.

In addition to a 300W Beats audio system, the T-Roc offers different interior trim color customizations and upholstery options to make each vehicle truly unique. There’s also an ambient lighting system that illuminates the cabin in either a red or white color and mobile phone mirroring in the form of Mirror Link, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
