The all-new Volkswagen Tiguan is a unique offering that holds onto everything that made its predecessor so very special. Targeted at those in search of luxury, practicality and refinement, all wrapped in a compact packaging, the Tiguan is one of Germany’s finest compact crossovers on offer.
Measuring 4,486mm in length, 1,839mm in width and 1,646mm in height, the all-new second-generation model has grown dimensionally to flaunt a more aggressive and intimidating stance. Prominent contours that embellish the bodywork, are complemented by sharper styling and add a dose of flamboyance into the design.

Inside, there really isn’t a whole lot to complain about. The cabin is well built and well put together, if a little familiar. But in that typical Germanic fashion, it’s an ergonomic wonder and offers 29mm more legroom in addition to an extra 145 liters of boot space when compared to its predecessor.
Beneath the sculpted hood resides one of two engines in the line-up, a 1.4-liter TSI or a 2.0-liter TSI. The former, mated to a six-speed DSG transmission, channels 150 horsepower to the front wheels and hits the 100 km/h mark in 9.2 seconds. On the other hand, the 2.0-liter engine produces 180 horsepower and directs it grunt through a seven-speed DSG transmission to dispatch a 100 km/h sprint in a very respectable 7.7 seconds.

The Sport variant of the all-new Tiguan, is in a class of its own. Powered by an uprated version of the 2.0-liter engine, the Sport variant is good for 220 horsepower – a figure that helps it reach 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h.
UAE prices of the Volkswagen Tiguan 2017 range from AED 89,900 for the 1.4-liter to AED 132,300 for the 2.0-liter Sport.
