Ingolstadt, October 22, 2012 – Title defense in Spain: At the season finale of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Navarra, Spain, the Audi R8 LMS ultra of the Belgian Audi Club WRT customer team clinched as many as two titles. Thanks to a second-place finish Stéphane Ortelli/Christopher Mies/Christopher Haase took the drivers’ title in the Europe wide series for GT3 sports cars. Third place went to Frank Stippler/Oliver Jarvis/Filippe Albuquerque in the sister car. In addition, the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT secured victory in the team classification. Both titles had already gone to the Belgian squad of Team Principal Vincent Vosse last year. However, due to pending protests the results are considered provisional.

Audi finished as the runner-up in the manufacturers’ classification of the 2012 DTM season. 128,000 spectators witnessed the nail-biting finale in perfect weather. Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich at the end of what was a difficult 2012 DTM season for Audi: "In the DTM everything’s got to fit if you want to win. And sometimes you also need a bit of fortune. This was another weekend on which we didn’t have that fortune. During the winter, we’re going to work even harder on bringing the championship back to Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm next year."
