Zero Carbon Ventures signs deal with Levidian Nanosystems to reduce carbon in the UAE

Zero Carbon Ventures is a firm that funds innovative businesses from around the world that could help in reducing carbon in the UAE. Now, Zero Carbon Ventures has struck a deal with British climate tech experts Levidian Nanosystems. 

Levidian’s LOOP technology cracks methane into hydrogen and carbon, locks the carbon into high-quality green graphene and what remains behind is hydrogen. Martin Reynolds, Zero Carbon Ventures’ CEO, believes that hydrogen is the fuel for the future and with Levidian’s technology converting landfill methane to hydrogen, it could be a groundbreaking step for the future. 

As part of the agreement, Zero Carbon Ventures has pledged to deploy 500 LOOP systems over the next five years in the region and focus on decarbonising waste gas on landfill and gas flaring sites. We are told that a LOOP50 by utilizing waste gas can eliminate a whopping 100 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) per year. Over the course of Levidian’s 10-year agreement with Zero Carbon, the 500 LOOP devices will look to remove half a million tonnes of CO2e. WOW

Zero Carbon Ventures has also partnered with the UAE government agencies and waste management and oil and gas companies. The very first Levidian LOOP10 system will be deployed at a site in Abu Dhabi.
