Introduction
Celebrating its arrival in the Middle East, the DBX, Aston Martin's first luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV), took to the Dubai Autodrome in November, driven by Mohammed bin Sulayem, the Vice President of the FIA and President of the Emirates Motorsports Organization. An avid fan of the prestigious British brand, Bin Sulayem, a 14-time winner of the Middle East Rally Championship, was selected to be the first to test drive the DBX on one of the region's tracks.
Performance and Design of the DBX
The DBX represents a new phase in Aston Martin's efforts to deliver exceptional performance coupled with unique design and user-friendliness in a segment where the luxury brand has not previously offered a vehicle. The DBX sets bold new standards in its class thanks to its:
- A dynamic driving experience reminiscent of high-performance sports cars.
- Exceptional luxury levels typical of premium SUVs.
This remarkable vehicle features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering an impressive 550 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 291 km/h.
Test Drive Experience
Mohammed bin Sulayem, an expert in the automotive world, tested the DBX on the track and in the off-road simulation area at Dubai Autodrome, alongside Dan Palmer, the head of Aston Martin in the Middle East and North Africa.
Comments from Mohammed bin Sulayem
Sharing his positive feedback, Bin Sulayem stated, "I am truly impressed with what Aston Martin has achieved with the DBX, which exceeded expectations with its enhanced driving dynamics and capability both on and off the track. The racing experience was thrilling, thanks to the brand's renowned sports cars, and the luxurious sporty character of the DBX shone through in off-road conditions. The DBX brings a new dimension to Aston Martin's lineup and is sure to garner more appreciation in the Middle East and around the globe."
Aston Martin's Future Plans
The brand's efforts to solidify its status as a leading automotive company are clearly reflected in this vehicle. Additionally, the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, set to participate in next year's races, will support these endeavors, and there is no doubt that Aston Martin will achieve remarkable successes in the near future.
Insights from Dan Palmer
Dan Palmer remarked, "Mohammed bin Sulayem is the ideal person and athlete to drive the DBX for the first time on the tracks of the Middle East. We are thrilled he took the time to drive the DBX and test its comprehensive capabilities, which proved challenging to keep up with. We have begun delivering our first luxury SUVs in the region, and our customers are experiencing the same joy that Bin Sulayem felt while driving."
