All-New BMW 4 Series Convertible

Overview

BMW has officially announced the all-new 4 Series Convertible. There are no surprises in design as the 4 Series Coupe was essentially a 3-Series coupe, and this is a 3-Series convertible. However, that doesn’t mean this car isn’t a looker; it looks even hotter with its top off.

Convertible Features

The 4 Series Convertible offers impressive functionality:

• Transforms from convertible to coupe in approximately 20 seconds.
• Equipped with neck warmers to ensure driver comfort in low temperatures with the top down.

Available Models in the US

In the US, there will be two models offered:

• 428i
• 435i

Specifications for 428i

• Engine: 2.0 L 4-cylinder
• Power: 240 bhp and 255 Nm torque
• Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in just above 6 seconds
• Top Speed: Limited to 250 km/h
• Transmission: 8-speed automatic gearbox
• Optional: xDrive AWD

Specifications for 435i

• Engine: 3.0 L inline-6
• Power: 300 bhp and 406 Nm torque
• Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in around 5.5 seconds
• Top Speed: Limited to 250 km/h
• Transmission: 8-speed automatic gearbox

The trim levels available for the US market are:

• Sport
• Luxury
• M Sport

Pricing starts at:

• $49,675 (AED 182,500) for the 428i
• $55,825 (AED 205,000) for the 435i

Launch Information

The BMW 4-Series Convertible will officially be unveiled at the LA Motor Show next month and is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2014.
