Cadillac CT5-V Review: Exceptional Performance and Design
Tags:
Introduction
This is the Cadillac CT5-V, larger, better, and bolder than the CT4-V version we reviewed earlier. Priced at AED 275,000, let's explore whether this car can compete with German rivals like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
Driving Experience

For those who read our review of the CT4-V, you may recall my complaints about the dull exhaust note and the lack of engagement and excitement while driving. Interestingly, it seems Cadillac took note, as everything I found lacking in the CT4-V has been addressed in the CT5-V.
The exhaust sound is fantastic; with multiple driving modes, you’ll feel the sound intensifying at lower speeds, culminating in an exhilarating roar at high speeds. The CT5-V offers the level of communication expected from a true sports sedan, providing more power when you press down on the accelerator and heightened excitement in the corners.

Being a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, it comes equipped with a limited-slip differential and a traction management system that offers five levels of control, allowing for a bit of slip at each level. Additionally, it features Brembo brakes that provide excellent responsiveness when venturing off the beaten path.

In terms of power, the standard CT5 features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, while the "V" version is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine that generates 360 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. It also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission featuring magnesium paddle shifters behind the wheel.
Interior Design

There’s a noticeable upgrade in the car's cabin, particularly in the quality of materials used. You'll find Alcantara leather on the steering wheel and carbon fiber accents on the dashboard and door panels, while the rest of the interior is covered in leather with some hard plastic accents.
The interior design exudes a sporty character, resembling its sibling, the CT4-V, but with a significant difference being the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Since it’s a larger vehicle than its sibling, you'll notice more space in the rear, complete with rear air vents, cup holders, and USB and 12V charging ports. Impressively, the quality of materials is maintained in the back, with carbon fiber touches on the door sides and leather used almost everywhere.
Technological Features

Cadillac has not held back in equipping this vehicle with all imaginable features for this category, including a panoramic sunroof, 15 speakers from the Bose audio system, 360-degree cameras, and advanced parking assist systems that make parking easier and more precise every time.
The car comes with several specifications, including:
- Wireless charger
- Built-in navigation system
- Connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Driver's seat with advanced safety features
The driver's seat vibrates based on data received from the cameras and sensors around the vehicle. If the car drifts out of its lane to the right, the right side of the seat begins to vibrate, alerting the driver to pay attention, and the same occurs for the other side. Additionally, if the vehicle approaches the one in front, the seat will vibrate, along with vibrations during parking when close to the curb.
Cadillac has also included numerous driver assistance systems, such as:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane keep assist system
- Lane departure warning system
- Blind spot monitoring system
- Automatic emergency braking system
- Pedestrian detection system
Exterior Design

When it comes to design, there’s no other way to describe the CT5-V than as a stunning sedan. It’s low and wide, featuring a magnificent front grille and an impressive diffuser that gives it a truly commanding presence. From the side, the V badge on the fenders and 19-inch alloy wheels hide the distinctive Brembo brakes behind them.
The sporty character continues to the rear with integrated quad exhaust pipes that blend beautifully with the rear diffuser and taillights that convey both power and elegance simultaneously.
The Verdict

With a starting price of AED 175,000 for the standard CT5 and AED 275,000 for the CT5-V, the car competes with the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class, with pricing that is closer to the BMW 3 Series M-Sport and the Mercedes C-Class AMG. In other words, if you're in the market for a luxurious sports sedan, you should definitely consider the Cadillac CT5-V in this segment of vehicles.
