Today, we received an invitation from Cadillac to participate in the launch of a new SUV that expands Cadillac's lineup. This family-friendly vehicle, accommodating seven passengers, is crucial for Cadillac, showcasing much about the future designs we can expect from the brand. Today, we'll be experiencing the new Cadillac XT6.

Design of the Cadillac XT6

The Cadillac XT6 shares its platform with the GMC Acadia and the new Chevrolet Blazer from General Motors, fitting neatly in Cadillac's production line between the XT5 and the iconic Escalade.

Cadillac has successfully blended a comfortable seven-passenger SUV with stunning contemporary styling that retains the Cadillac identity we have come to recognize, which will be evident across all future Cadillac models.

Exterior Design Features

One of the key features of this design is the incorporation of more horizontal elements in the front and rear lighting, while still retaining some of the vertical lighting elements synonymous with Cadillac, albeit in lesser amounts, particularly at the rear. The vertical lights extending to the roof, seen in models like the Cadillac Escalade and XT4, are absent here.

The front of the vehicle is the most striking aspect of this design, featuring a sporty look with a grille on the "Premium Luxury" version, accented with small chrome elements cleverly inspired by the Cadillac emblem. This grille will be entirely black on the sport version of the XT6.

Interior Space and Luxury

Inside, the Cadillac XT6 is all about spaciousness across all seating rows, complemented by the level of luxury in the materials used, as expected from any Cadillac vehicle. In higher trims, for instance, you can enjoy a fully suede-covered ceiling, along with high-quality leather throughout the cabin, elegantly accentuated with wood and suede elements.

This luxury is combined with a host of features, all controllable via an easy-to-use entertainment system through a touchscreen in the center console or via a dial and buttons on the console. My only observation is the relatively small size of the screen for a new 2020 model. Although the screen size is adequate, I believe we have become accustomed to seeing screens of at least 10 inches, especially in newly launched vehicles.

Performance of the Cadillac XT6

Now, I will share what I loved most about the Cadillac XT6, despite its family-oriented size, and that is its driving dynamics. As someone who enjoys a bit of sporty driving even in family vehicles, I can confidently say that Cadillac has succeeded in giving the XT6 a distinctly dynamic driving character. This is not only due to its V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque but also because of its smooth 9-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the excellent synergy between the engine and the transmission, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.

Cadillac has also focused on providing a strong steering feel and high precision during maneuvers, making the driving experience feel closer to that of a sedan rather than a large seven-seat SUV.

Cadillac XT6 Options

The Cadillac XT6 comes with two options: Luxury Premium and Sport. Here, I must commend Cadillac for ensuring that the Sport version not only differs in exterior appearance but also features various mechanical settings that enhance the dynamic driving experience, which you can truly feel immediately.
