Introduction
Dodge is raising the bar for high performance in the Middle East with the announcement of the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, equipped with a powerful engine that generates 797 horsepower.
History and Performance
Following a record-breaking year with the limited-edition Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the fastest and most powerful muscle car ever, Dodge SRT is returning to its muscle car roots. This is achieved by utilizing its most potent engine, the supercharged HEMI V8, to elevate the performance of the Hellcat. The result is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
Performance Enhancements
Similar to the Demon model, the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye features 25 significant enhancements, including:
- A larger supercharger, reinforced connecting rods, and high-strength pistons with high-speed valve actuation.
- An improved fuel injection system and lubrication system.
Comparison with the Standard SRT Hellcat Engine
The supercharged Redeye engine boasts the following advantages:
- The largest supercharger offered in any production car—2.7 liters compared to 2.4 liters.
- Higher boost pressure: 14.5 psi versus 11.6 psi.
- Increased engine redline: 6500 RPM compared to 6200 RPM.
- Dual-stage fuel pumps compared to a single pump.
- The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye consumes 5.4 liters of fuel per minute at full throttle.
- A larger air intake system with three sources for air intake:
- A new hood with dual air scoops.
- A driver's side air intake in the headlamp.
- An opening near the wheel arch liner.
Transmission System
The Challenger SRT Hellcat features an 8-speed automatic TorqueFlite 8HP90 transmission. Dodge has made internal changes to the transmission, including a torque converter that increases torque by 18% compared to the conventional Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Vehicle Performance
With power ranging from 717 to 797 horsepower, Dodge offers the most powerful lineup of Challenger SRT Hellcats ever, with the option of an automatic transmission to handle the immense power and torque. The new SRT Hellcat Redeye offers two final drive ratios: a standard ratio of 2.62:1 or a 3.09:1 ratio for improved launch capability. The Challenger SRT Hellcat lineup delivers enhanced performance, including a new top speed of 327 km/h, making the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye the fastest and most powerful muscle car available.
