One of the most anticipated convertibles this year is the Ferrari 488 Spider. Built on the foundations of the 488 GTB supercar, it is undoubtedly an icon of elegance and beauty in its class. I had the opportunity to drive this car for just a few hours, so I didn't get to test every detail, but let's delve into my experience.
Exterior Design
Ferrari has crafted some unforgettable convertibles, but the most iconic of them was the 458. That will soon be a thing of the past, as this beauty has surpassed it, and I fell in love at first sight. The contours and colors are simply captivating; I couldn't stop admiring it. Just look at it! Press a button to open the roof, and you'll feel like royalty! Simply stunning!

Interior Design
The interior of the 488 Spider mirrors that of the coupe, resembling the 458. There isn't much to discuss, but the cabin is practical. The seats are comfortable compared to its competitors. I was able to drive it for three continuous hours, which is a feat for a supercar. The insulation is decent, but the airflow wasn't great, as my hair was styled one way when I got in and another when I got out! Other than that, everything was satisfactory.
Driving Performance
I had previously driven the 488 GTB, so I knew what to expect. However, with the top down and the engine in the rear, driving the 488 Spider was much more enjoyable than the GTB. The engine is the same 3.9L twin-turbo V8 producing 660 horsepower, and oh my, is it fast! I can't describe the feeling when you launch with the turbo. The turbo kicks in quickly, which is why everyone loves the 488. This car makes you feel like it’s begging you to go faster and faster. Overall, the driving experience was incredibly smooth.
Conclusion
If I had enough money in the bank, I would definitely prefer to buy this car over the GTB.
