Bugatti celebrates its legends

Launches special edition models named after them, including Jean-Pierre Wimille

Les Legendes de Bugatti (Bugatti Legends) is the name of new special edition cars based on Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and celebrating the men who have shaped its history.

The first “Legend” car has been named after racing driver Jean-Pierre Wimille which will make its debut at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.

No changes have been made to the engine, it remains a quad-turbocharged 8.0L W16 with 1,184 bhp and a top speed of 233mph. The acceleration from 0-62 mph takes around 2.6 seconds.

Bugatti’s CEO, Wolfgang Schreiber, said that the latest special editions will help to tell the story of the brand, at the same time create a link between its illustrious past and the present form.

The remaining 5 special editions will be revealed during the next 12 months.
