Fiat Chrysler has announced the recall of 311,000 vehicles, with the majority being Wrangler models, totaling 224,789 units. The remaining vehicles include Dodge Ram and Dodge Charger models.
Models Affected by the Recall
The recall was announced last Tuesday, affecting Dodge Ram models from 2007 to 2013, and Dodge Charger models from 2011 to 2014. The recall specifically pertains to the 2016 Wrangler model, which has been identified with this issue.
Airbag Problem
The recalled Wrangler vehicles are facing an issue with disconnected wiring, which could impact the functionality of the airbags, potentially preventing them from deploying in a collision. To date, no complaints have been reported by customers regarding this issue.
Geographic Distribution of Wrangler Vehicles
The affected Wrangler vehicles are distributed globally, with 182,743 units in the United States, 18,011 in Canada, 3,087 in Mexico, and 20,948 in other international markets. The company has stated that owners and dealers will be notified as soon as service operations commence, which will be provided at no cost.
