Ford has announced that it will be investing a whopping $3.7 Billion in the United States for producing EVs and internal combustion engined cars at its plants in Michigan, Ohio and Missouri.
Out of the mammoth $3.7 billion, $2.3 billion will be spent on EVs which will further help the Blue Oval in achieving its target of investing $50 billion in EVs by 2026. For completing the investment, Ford officials have said that the company will be getting $150 million and $200 million worth of incentives from Michigan and Ohio, respectively.
The investment will generate 6,200 hourly jobs and convert 3,000 temporary workers into full-time employees. These full-time employees will get healthcare benefits and higher pay.
The Ohio assembly plant will get $1.5 billion to kickstart a new electric commercial vehicle starting mid-decade. A $95 million investment will be made in the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri to increase production of the Transit commercial van and the electric E-Transit.
Now let’s get to the juice part of the news: the new Mustang. As part of production plans at its Michigan, Ford announced that it will be building the 7th generation Mustang at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant and new Ranger at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne.
