Genesis has unveiled its first dedicated electric vehicle, the GV60, marking a significant milestone for the brand in the electric car market. This announcement was made during a global digital event hosted by the company on Thursday, September 30, via its official YouTube channel.
Design Philosophy and Advanced Technologies
During the event, Genesis showcased a film that introduced the design philosophy of the GV60 and the values it embodies. The film also highlighted the advanced technologies of the new vehicle, particularly those related to driver interaction. The name of the vehicle extends the current range of Genesis models, emphasizing the brand's ongoing commitment to its values even as it transitions towards electric vehicles.
Brand Vision Announcement
The new vehicle also represents the launch of a luxurious model lineup designed to interact with drivers, which was presented during the brand vision announcement on September 2.

In this regard, Jay Chang, the Global Head of Genesis, stated:
"The GV60 is the first dedicated electric model with a more dynamic design and represents Genesis' direction towards the future of electric vehicles. We aim to establish new standards for luxury electric cars distinguished by strong performance and diverse core technologies for customer interaction."
Meanwhile, Luc Donckerwolke, the Chief Creative Officer of Genesis, commented:
"The GV60 will offer a unique experience that allows for interaction with vehicles in the signature Genesis style."
E-GMP Platform and Vehicle Models
The GV60 is the first vehicle from Genesis developed on a dedicated electric vehicle platform known as the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), marking an important step for the brand in this sector. It is available in three models:
- Standard rear-wheel drive model
- Standard all-wheel drive model
- High-performance all-wheel drive model
Battery Specifications and Range
Each model is equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery, with the standard rear-wheel drive model boasting a maximum driving range of 451 km on a single charge.
