Introduction
The Global EVRT is set to return to the Middle East in January 2019, aiming to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the region following last year’s success. This edition will feature a new approach to maximize the event's impact, showcasing a competitive journey for electric vehicles (EVRT) where participants will test and evaluate their vehicles based on time and energy efficiency across the UAE and Oman.
Event Details
Launch Date and Journey Route
The journey will kick off from the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi on January 17. Participants will benefit from charging stations that were inaugurated during last year's event, in addition to new stations added along the route. The journey will cover 1,700 kilometers, including major cities such as:
- Muscat
- Fujairah
- Ras Al Khaimah
- Khasab
Participants will return to Dubai on January 24.
Executive Director's Statement
Ben Bowlen, the Executive Director of Global EVRT, stated: "The EVRT in the Middle East is growing stronger every year, reflecting the progress made in the region toward electric vehicles and smart mobility. It is an exciting time in the automotive industry with many new electric vehicles launching worldwide, many of which will arrive in the Gulf countries in 2019."
Activities and Events
The upcoming edition will feature a fun-filled entertainment program as participants will embark on various long-distance journeys to showcase the capabilities of electric vehicles while enjoying the scenic views of the UAE and Oman. Some confirmed activities include:
- Wild swimming race to Snoopy Island
- Participation in the world's longest zip line at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah
Participation Tickets
Anyone interested in electric vehicles and their technologies can participate in this event, with tickets available for the entire journey or parts of it as follows:
- Abu Dhabi to Muscat from January 17 to January 20
- Muscat to Dubai from January 20 to January 24
The ticket price is AED 8,045 for all eight days, plus a reservation fee of AED 3,340.
Special Discounts
EVRT is offering discounts of up to AED 4,000 for individuals who register before 11 PM on October 30, 2018.
