Introduction
Today, Hyundai Motor unveiled its first high-performance model, the i30 N, in Cape Town, South Africa, marking a significant step in its global presence in the sports car segment. The new model is set to launch soon in the Middle East and North Africa markets.
Design and Features of the i30 N
The i30 N model is the inaugural high-performance vehicle from Hyundai's N division. This new generation has been designed with advanced capabilities for racing tracks while also offering comfort and enjoyment for daily driving.
Hyundai has equipped its new car with cutting-edge technology and special attention to driver needs, facilitating ease of use in travel and readiness for racing.
Engine and Performance
The i30 N features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power output of 202 kW at 6000 RPM, with peak torque achieved from 1,500 to 4,700 RPM.
Transmission System
The i30 N's power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, which includes five distinct driving modes:
- ECO Mode
- NORMAL Mode
- N Mode
- Customizable N Mode
These modes can be accessed through dedicated buttons on the steering wheel. The i30 N also features an integrated system for adjusting speed and engine RPM when the driver switches between driving modes, ensuring smooth gear transitions.
i30 N Design
The new i30 N model boasts stylish 19-inch wheels fitted with high-performance Pirelli P-Zero tires (235/35R19) and distinctive thick red brakes adorned with the "N" logo. Additionally, it includes robust bumpers, larger air intakes, a dynamic rear with a third brake light, and a twin exhaust system that complements the car's sporty aesthetic.
Driving Control
The design of the i30 N is inspired by Hyundai's racing vehicles and features Electronic Control Suspension (ECS) and a traction control system, ensuring a thrilling driving experience with curve-handling capabilities that align with the hatchback's sporty design.
Color Options
Customers can choose from five exciting colors based on their preferences:
- Pure White
- Phantom Black
- Performance Red
- Gray
- Blue
