Infiniti Launches 'Eyes on You' Campaign to Promote Child Safety
Campaign Overview
To promote road safety in the region, Infiniti Middle East is launching an 'Eyes on You' campaign aimed at increasing the safety of children in vehicles by promoting the use of child seats. Through an online bidding platform, which will run from May 7th to 9th, 2020, Infiniti will allow participants to bid on the Infiniti QX80 with a competitive starting price of AED 150,000. A portion of the sales proceeds from cars sold through this platform will fund the donation of infant seats for new-born children in 2020. Car buyers can pre-register prior to the auction and receive an email notification once the bidding starts.
Community Focus
“Potential car buyers across the country are often greeted with special Ramadan incentives; however, we wanted to place greater emphasis on family and community, particularly during these turbulent times,” said Markus Leithe, Managing Director, INFINITI Middle East. “Our unique online bidding platform aims to give new car buyers great savings during Ramadan, particularly while many are unable to visit showrooms, while still contributing towards a positive driving culture in the UAE, especially with new-borns taking their very first car ride from hospital to home.”
Statistics on Child Seat Usage
According to a YouGov study conducted in 2017, 1 in 3 parents in the UAE do not use car seats for their children. In 2019, INFINITI conducted a nationwide survey by YouGov as part of the 'Eyes On You' road safety campaign, which discovered that over half of parents do not know the legal requirements for seatbelt use for children. Additionally, over 30% of drivers admitted to breaking the law when children are present in the car.
