MG Motor has announced the arrival of the new MG GS in the Middle East. While the previous generation of the MG GS was the brand's first SUV launched in international markets, the new and improved model takes a significant step forward with its updated and practical interior, high levels of equipment, and dynamic design.
New MG GS Details
The new MG GS is available in the region in two trim levels:
- 2.0T COM
- 2.0T LUX AWD (All-Wheel Drive)
Prices start at just $17,200, depending on the market, offering families plenty of flexibility for enjoyable adventures with a well-equipped and affordable package.
Exterior Design
Instant changes are evident from the exterior, as the new MG GS showcases a sportier yet bolder front end. The newly designed front bumper improves the vehicle's aerodynamics, beautifully complemented by a larger front grille and redesigned air intakes.
Interior Design
The improvements continue inside, thanks to visibly higher-quality finishes, with many hard edges and plastic parts replaced. Over 80 percent of surfaces are now covered with soft-touch materials, a significant increase of 30 percent compared to the first-generation model. MG has worked diligently to reduce cabin noise, making it as quiet and comfortable as possible.
Control and Comfort Technologies
The new console features a new 8-inch high-definition touchscreen with quick response capabilities, allowing users to control functions in multiple languages, such as searching for Points of Interest (POIs) with built-in navigation and a map of the GCC region accessible without an internet connection. Additionally, the multifunction steering wheel has been redesigned with a smaller diameter and a three-spoke layout, enhancing steering control and handling.
Engine and Performance
The new MG GS is equipped with a powerful 2.0T engine paired with a smoother 6-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters, generating a maximum power output of 221 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The vehicle is available with either a two-wheel drive (2WD) or a new all-wheel drive (AWD) system, ensuring a smoother ride experience with faster torque distribution adjustments compared to the previous model. With overall improvements in suspension stiffness, the new model offers enhanced stability and significantly reduced cabin noise.
