Jaguar Classic has unveiled the first pair of vehicles from the E-Type 60 Collection, revealing the specifications of 12 renewed and upgraded E-Type cars with a 3.8-liter capacity, celebrating the 60th anniversary of this iconic sports car.
The History of the E-Type
The E-Type was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland on March 15, 1961, where it received an enthusiastic response from the audience and numerous requests for test drives, prompting Jaguar to hastily bring another convertible from Coventry to Geneva overnight.
Legendary Car Details
Honoring the Two Iconic Cars
Six decades later, the E-Type 60 Collection pays tribute to these two legendary vehicles:
- 9600 HP coupe in a stunning gunmetal gray.
- The convertible in racing green, 77 RW.
They were driven "as fast as possible" by Bob Berry and Norman Dewis, respectively.
Unique Design and Enhancements
Both cars feature a range of unique design elements specific to the E-Type 60, developed in collaboration with Julian Thomson, Jaguar's Design Director. Exceptional enhancements improve the car's usability and driving experience, including:
- A five-speed manual transmission with improved cooling.
- The "Jaguar Classic" infotainment system equipped with satellite navigation.
- Bluetooth connectivity.

- An XK six-cylinder engine delivering 265 horsepower with a 3.8-liter capacity.
- A polished stainless steel exhaust system.

Each vehicle features a unique piece of engraved metal crafted by artist King Nerd, with the central console of all 12 cars engraved with bespoke designs for each E-Type 60 Edition.
A Unique Experience for Car Owners
A Commemorative Journey
In the summer of 2022, six customers and their guests will participate in a commemorative journey from Coventry to Geneva in their E-Types. This trip will allow them to enjoy breathtaking landscapes, outstanding roads, exclusive accommodations, and gourmet meals.
