The Evolution from Vision GT Coupé to Vision GT SV
Back in October 2019, Jaguar introduced the Vision GT Coupé—the brand’s first all-electric sports racing car designed specifically for Gran Turismo. The car quickly won over the gaming community with its stunning looks inspired by Jaguar’s rich heritage, a driver-focused cockpit, and outstanding handling and steering dynamics.
Pushing Boundaries: The Next Step in Electric Racing Innovation
For the Jaguar Design team, the SV Special Vehicles division, and Jaguar Racing, the Vision GT Coupé was just the starting point. Leveraging this foundation, they set out to develop the Vision GT SV, thoroughly re-examining every aspect to enhance performance and to reimagine what an endurance electric racing car from Jaguar could be.
Community-Driven Design and Engineering
A key element in this development was the in-depth analysis of player feedback from videos and online forums. By combining insights from these virtual "behind the wheel" experiences, the design and engineering teams precisely identified what improvements were needed to create the ideal racing car for gamers: the Vision GT SV.

So, when the team behind the Vision GT Coupé was asked to create a high-performance electric endurance racer for Gran Turismo, they collaborated closely with engineers from SV Special Vehicles and Jaguar Racing to deliver something truly exceptional.”
Technical Innovation: Power, Precision, and Performance
The new Vision GT SV features a lightweight, streamlined body and is equipped with four electric motors developed by Jaguar Racing and SV Special Vehicles—an upgrade from the three motors in the previous Coupé. This setup delivers a staggering 1,903 horsepower (1,400 kW) and instant torque of 3,360 Nm, benefiting from all-wheel drive and advanced torque distribution for optimal traction and dynamics. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.65 seconds, ultimately reaching a top speed of 255 mph (410 km/h).

With one motor powering each wheel, every motor is mated to a single-speed transmission engineered to handle immense torque while minimizing weight and friction. This results in maximum efficiency and allows the Vision GT SV to achieve its breathtaking top speed of 255 mph.

Beyond its all-electric all-wheel drive system, equipping each wheel with its own motor allows for precise control of torque both laterally and longitudinally. This innovation dramatically enhances torque distribution, traction, agility, and overall vehicle control.
