Kia is taking a big leap in the compact hatchback game with the launch of the 2026 K4 Hatchback. Introduced at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the K4 Hatchback will be taking the Forte5's place as it brings together contemporary design, functionality, and innovation.
Design: A Contemporary Hatchback Twist
The K4 Hatchback presents Kia's "Opposites United" design theme, a slim profile with a vertical rear gate and a signature D-pillar generating a floating roof appearance. LED light elements and striking taillights add to its aggressive look.

Interior: Tech-Savvy and Spacious
Inside, the K4 Hatchback echoes its sedan counterpart with a driver-focused dashboard featuring dual 12.3-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment. The interior provides impressive cargo space, with 22.2 cubic feet available when the rear seats are up and 59.3 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down, making it perfect for any lifestyle.

Performance: Engine Options for Every Driver
The K4 Hatchback has two engine options: an entry-level 2.0-liter four-banger good for 147 horsepower matched with a CVT, and a higher-performance 1.6-liter turbocharged four-banger good for 190 horsepower that comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharged model is reserved for the GT-Line Turbo trim, offering increased performance for the sportier crowd.

Safety and Driver Assistance
Kia outfits the K4 Hatchback with an extensive array of safety features, such as forward collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Advanced driver assistance systems add safety and convenience to the driving experience, fostering a sense of confidence while driving.

Trim Levels and Availability
The K4 Hatchback will come in EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo models, each with its own level of features and design elements. The 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships by late 2025, with starting prices around $25,000 for the EX model, and higher-level trims above $30,000. There’s been no word on the UAE arrival.
