The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has broken the 0-400-0-km/h record in emphatic fashion. The record was previously held by, you guessed it, the Koenigsegg Regera. They just love breaking records.
The Jesko did 0-400-0-km/h in just 27.83 seconds. The record was broken at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden with test driver Markus Lundh at the wheel of the Jesko. During the run, three more records were broken: 0-400 kph in 18.82 seconds, 0-250 mph in 19.20 seconds, and 0–250–0 mph in 28.27 seconds. The Koenigsegg Jesko also achieved its top speed of 256 mph (412 km/h). The data for the runs was recorded using industry-standard timing equipment from Racelogic. It was verified by Racelogic’s HQ in the UK.
For those of you who need a refresher, the Jesko Absolut is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 which produces a whopping 1,600 horsepower on E85 fuel. All of the one thousand six hundred horses are sent to the rear wheels via Koenigsegg’s nine-speed gearbox with seven clutches for super-quick changes, called the Light Speed Transmission (LST).
The Jesko Absolut is crafted for unparalleled straight-line speed, featuring a body design that minimizes drag through a reduced frontal area and strategic air venting. By forgoing active aero, the car achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.278, making it one of the most aerodynamically efficient hypercars in the world. This meticulous design approach ensures the Jesko Absolut delivers exceptional performance with minimal air resistance.
For the record run, the car was pretty much stock apart from a Koenigsegg One:1 seat and roll cage for safety. The seat was "favored by the driver," and who are we to argue - after all, you need to be as comfortable and focused when you’re going to break four records. The car did the run on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.
Koenigsegg’s head honcho Chiristian Von Koenigsegg said: “This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to outright be the fastest fully homologated production car in the world. In parallel, we plan to see what kind of records the Jesko Attack can achieve, given its astonishing track performance.” So… lap records are next for Koenigsegg and team - we can’t wait!
