Lamborghini Huracan Evo Review: Performance and Technology Redefined
The car you see above is the Lamborghini Huracan Evo. If you think it’s loud, fast, and expensive, you’re absolutely right. Six years after its launch, the Huracan has undergone a mid-cycle refresh and emerged as the pinnacle of performance and technology.
Exterior Design

Tweaked both aesthetically and mechanically, the Huracan Evo sports a new bumper with the brand’s signature Y-shaped design. Key features include:
- Design elements reminiscent of older Lamborghinis: bonnet lines inspired by the legendary Countach and side air ducts from the gorgeous Murcielago.
- Functional air vents and ducts along the bodywork.
- 20-inch alloy wheels and ventilated carbon ceramic brakes.
Equally intimidating at the rear, the Huracan Evo features:
- A new bumper with a larger diffuser.
- Center exit exhausts from the Huracan Performante.
- A spoiler that generates five times more downforce than the older model, pushes hot air away from the car, and reduces air turbulence for better grip.

Interior Features

Much like any supercar, the interior of the Huracan Evo is unique. Key characteristics include:
- Indicator and wiper controls are buttons on the steering wheel, rather than stalks.
- Window buttons are part of the dashboard instead of the doors.
- A gear lever and starter button resembling those from a spaceship.
New to the Huracan Evo is an 8.4-inch touch infotainment screen exclusive to the brand, eliminating the shared screens with Audi. It includes:
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
- A 10-speaker Sensonum audio system.
- A large digital instrument cluster that changes layouts based on the drive mode.
Driving Experience

A thrilling ride in every sense, the Huracan Evo sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 325 km/h. This is made possible by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine from the Huracan Performante:
- Produces 631 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.
- Delivers an exhilarating sound from the exhaust pipes.
Being naturally aspirated, the Huracan Evo thrives in the high rev range, with peak torque at 6,500 RPM and peak power at a shrieking 8,000 RPM. It features a quick 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, requiring precise shifts with paddles behind the steering wheel.

For a more relaxed experience, you can opt for Strada (street mode) or Sport mode. However, to truly enjoy the car, keep it in Corsa mode for satisfying shifts. The car's character transforms dramatically with each drive mode.
Lamborghini has designed the Huracan Evo to make even inexperienced drivers feel like professionals, with numerous advanced systems working together:
- All-Wheel-Drive system with torque vectoring for maximum grip.
- All-wheel steering system enhancing cornering capabilities.
- Lamborghini’s dynamic steering with variable ratio and magnetic ride control.
These systems continuously communicate, a process known as LDVI - Lamborghini Dynamica Veicolo Integrata, acting as a supercomputer that reacts to inputs in just 20 milliseconds, redefining feedback into feed-forward.

Verdict

If you want speed and thrill, while many fast cars exist, not many offer the same insanity and drama as the Huracan Evo. With a starting price of 1.3 million Dirhams, it isn’t cheap. You could purchase six C8 Chevrolet Corvettes, three Porsche 911s, or two Nissan GT-R NISMOs for the same amount of money. But do you know which one we’d choose? The Lambo, without a shadow of a doubt.
