Land Rover has reached a remarkable milestone with the sale of its one-millionth Range Rover Sport in December 2020. To commemorate this achievement, Land Rover has released a special tribute film showcasing some of the most iconic moments and highlights from the luxury high-performance SUV’s 15-year production journey.
Range Rover Sport: A Journey of Excellence
The Range Rover Sport made its debut in 2005. The current second generation was unveiled in spectacular fashion in 2013, arriving in New York City with the help of actor Daniel Craig. Since its launch, the Range Rover Sport has demonstrated its exceptional dynamic capabilities worldwide, including setting a record on the famous Pikes Peak hill climb in the United States during its launch year. It also achieved the fastest recorded crossing of Saudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter desert. In 2018, the Range Rover Sport became the first vehicle ever to ascend the 999-step staircase at China’s “Heaven’s Gate.”
Innovations and Upgrades in 2020
In 2020, the Range Rover Sport introduced further enhancements, including a new six-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine featuring mild hybrid (MHEV) technology and new special edition models. These updates joined the previously introduced P400e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, offering customers more choices than ever before.
