Lincoln MKX Review
Introduction
Lincoln is a brand that often doesn’t come to mind when considering a luxury vehicle in the Gulf region. This may be attributed to Ford's dominance in the market, leaving little space for American luxury cars. If there is any competition, it is primarily from Cadillac. In response, Lincoln is striving to establish its presence by enhancing its design, as exemplified by the Lincoln MKX.
Vehicle Design
Think of Lincoln as the cousin of the Ford Edge. Although they don't look alike at all, it appears Lincoln borrowed some components from the Edge and replaced them with its own to create a unique design. The same can be said for the interior. The materials used are entirely different, and although the layout resembles that of Ford vehicles, the entertainment system is the only element taken directly from the Ford Edge.
Engine and Performance
The MKX features a 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine that produces 330 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
Key Specifications
- Engine: 2.7-liter V6 with 330 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque
- Transmission: 6-speed automatic
- Price: 175,000 AED to 255,000 AED
Driving Experience
Initially, the MKX offers a remarkable level of quietness—an almost surreal calm. Instead of a traditional gear lever, it features buttons for gear shifting on the dashboard, which may take some time to get used to. Beyond that, you will find plenty of soft leather and plush padding for comfort. The spacious cabin comfortably accommodates five passengers. When it comes to driving, the experience is enjoyable. While the 2.7-liter engine is impressive, especially with the EcoBoost turbocharger, the steering response isn't exceptional. However, with the addition of fixed wheels, you have a fun SUV.
