Maserati Unveils the Levante - The First SUV from Maserati
Maserati has revealed the exterior design of the Levante, marking its entry into the SUV market after more than a century of automotive heritage. This new model joins the existing lineup of sedans and sports cars, including the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio.
Levante Design
The Levante showcases Maserati's distinctive Italian styling. Key design features include:
- New dual-section headlights with an upper lamp unit connected to the grille.
- Three traditional Maserati air intakes on the side bumper.
- A trapezoidal C-pillar adorned with the classic Maserati Saetta emblem.
- Large frameless door windows.
The sleek rear shape and sloping rear window indicate that this is a high-performance sports car.
Levante Performance
The Levante's chassis is engineered to deliver exceptional on-road performance, unique Maserati handling even on slippery surfaces, and excellent off-road capabilities. All variants of the Levante come equipped with:
- Advanced electronic suspension with controlled damping.
- Air suspension adjustable to several different levels.
- Intelligent all-wheel-drive system "Q4".
- Custom 8-speed automatic transmission designed specifically for Maserati's new SUV.
Levante Engines
The Levante is available with both gasoline and diesel engines, all compliant with Euro 6 standards. Maserati Levante is manufactured at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy. The first batch of vehicles is set to be launched in the European market this spring, followed by releases in other countries.
