Mercedes-Benz Unveils Facelifted A-Class and G500 4x4 at Qatar Motor Show
Introduction
Phlip Mayling, Head of Sales at Mercedes-Benz, announced the facelifted A-Class at the Qatar Motor Show, stating:
Mercedes-Benz A-Class
"Since the introduction of the hot hatch from MB in 2013, the A-Class demand has exceeded all our expectations. Now, our new generation A-Class is a manifestation of success and fits with the aspirations of a modern, young, and urban generation."
Engine Performance
This year, Mercedes-Benz has extended the range of the vehicle’s engines:
- The A250 now provides a peak output of 155 kW, which is well over 200 Bhp.
Design Philosophy
The exterior of the new A-Class features:
- Curved surfaces following the design philosophy of sensual purity.
- A dynamic sporty interior highlighted by an 8-inch free-standing display.
The new A-Class is designed for powerful performance and athletic aesthetics, catering to the needs of a confident individual.
All-New G500 4x4
Lennart Müller-Teut, Head of Marketing & Communications, launched the all-new G500 4x4:
Market Importance
Lennart indicated that the Middle East has become one of the most important markets for the segment. In 2013, MB launched the G63 AMG 6x6. The success of the vehicle was very exciting for us at Mercedes-Benz; it accounted for 41% of Mercedes-Benz sales in the region, said Mr. Lennart.
Introduction of G500 4x4
"Today, we introduce for the first time in Qatar, the Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 with the existing DNA of the G series. It features:
- A 422 Bhp V8 petrol engine.
- A sharper exterior design of the G-Class.
There is clearly no doubt that this vehicle represents the most extreme production for off-road SUVs with high performance designed for the region."
