Statements from Dirk Fetzer
Dirk Fetzer, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East and North Africa, stated that "Performance" signifies two essential elements for Mercedes: first, power, control, and sound that represent AMG, and secondly, their role as innovators in the high-performance segment. He added that their vehicles are not just ordinary cars; they are unparalleled sports cars, and this event is the perfect platform to showcase this.
Significance of the Event
This event is crucial for all AMG enthusiasts in the region and provides participants with the opportunity to experience the cars through various activities, including racing and drifting.
Driving Experience
In my opinion, drifting was the most exciting and enjoyable activity, as we drove C63 cars on wet roads without engaging traction control. There were two laps on the circuit:
- The first lap featured several AMG models racing around the Yas Circuit.
- The second lap showcased GT cars on asphalt roads.
They also intended to hold a race between AMG SUV models, including the G63, GLS63, and GLE63 Coupe. However, the race was canceled due to poor weather conditions.
