Abu Dhabi Motorists Urged to Clear Road Toll Fines for Vehicle Transactions
Importance of Clearing DARB Toll Fines
In a statement issued by the authorities, motorists in the emirate of Abu Dhabi are being urged to clear all road toll fines before transferring or renewing vehicle ownership.
Vehicle Ownership Requirements in Abu Dhabi
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, in coordination with Abu Dhabi Police, announced that vehicle owners in Abu Dhabi must clear all pending fines for vehicles registered in DARB. This measure prevents owners from completing any transaction related to the vehicle, such as transferring or renewing vehicle ownership.
Paying DARB Toll Fees
The ITC pointed out that owners of vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi must pay the DARB Toll fees using one of the available channels:
- The official website
- The DARB smart app
On the app, users can select the fee payment service or top-up the electronic wallet and activate the automatic payment feature. The latter option will deduct the fees from the account as needed.
Traffic Fine Payment Options
The ITC has also invited registered vehicle owners from across the UAE to pay all vehicle-related traffic fines, such as:
- Non-registration violations
- Insufficient balance
These fines can be paid using the DARB smart app or the website, enabling drivers to complete their vehicle ownership renewal process, ownership transfer, or any vehicle-related transaction.
Advice for Unregistered Vehicle Owners
The center also urged unregistered vehicle owners to avoid traffic fines by creating their DARB Toll Gate System accounts and registering their vehicles that pass through DARB toll gates during peak hours.
