All-New BMW iX3 Arrives and Launches new EV era
Tags:

BMW has unveiled the all-new 2026 iX3, the first vehicle constructed on its brand-new Neue Klasse (New Class) EV platform. Highlighting the iX3 at its launch in Munich, BMW pushed that the iX3 will be the EV that spearheads its next generation with daring design, state-of-the-art tech, and range-topping performance.
A Clean-Slate Design That Stands Out
Contrary to today's iX3, this generation restarts from scratch. The outcome? A svelte, stylish SUV with a slimmed-down kidney grille, angled triangular headlights, and a shape that's as much sports wagon as compact crossover.

Flush surfaces, door handles recessed into them, and a lower drag coefficient, from 0.29 to 0.24, reflect both performance and elegance. Bavarians describe it as "reduced, characterful, and timeless."
Range and Performance: A New Benchmark
BMW promises the iX3 can travel over 400 miles (EPA) on a single charge in its top-tier 50 xDrive model with dual motors producing 463 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque. It rockets from 0–60 mph in under 5 seconds and tops out near 130 mph. A smaller battery pack allows fast charging speeds up to 400 kW, topping off with 230 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

Others forecast outstanding WLTP ratings of as much as 500 miles for the European market, though actual results are likely to differ.
Plug-and-Play Tech
The iX3 heralds a move toward software-first design. It introduces BMW's "Heart of Joy" central computer, which integrates powertrain, stability, and comfort functions into one super-intelligent unit.

Drivers operate a 43-inch Panoramic iDrive screen that sweeps across the dashboard, yielding to spare controls with active lighting. Digital key access, over-the-air updates, and intuitive UI features are built in from the beginning.
Value That's More Accessible
BMW previews a U.S. base price of $60,000 for the 50 xDrive model, approximately $10,000 above the bottom X3 and some $5,000 below the six-banger X3 M50. Base rear-drive models will arrive later, presumably at a more palatable $55,000.

European prices begin at €68,900, with production commencing later in 2025. European deliveries start March 2026; first deliveries in the U.S. are in summer 2026. No news on its rollout in other regions.
