Polished Style That Puts the Tiguan in Its Place

Rather than discarding the personality of the original car, the new T-Roc develops it subtly. At the front, the grille assumes the Tiguan and Passat's appearance with a broad, backlighted VW logo surrounded by LED headlamps. At the back, the light bar reflects modern VW DNA across the hatch with an accompanying glowing badge. It's sharper, more streamlined, and slightly more emotive than the current model.

Volkswagen retained the coupe-style roofline that provides the T-Roc with its sporty personality, yet added 120 mm of overall length. That additional footprint amounts to a more spacious cabin—now even taller rear passengers can stretch out in comfort.

Interior Gets a Quiet Makeover

The cabin itself tips now into clean, modern styling. The majority of panels are treated in soft-touch, fabric-upholstered materials that diffuse reflections and temper the atmosphere. At the center sits a 10.4-inch or optional 12.9-inch touchscreen based on trim, accompanied by a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. There's also an optional head-up display and a familiar rotary dial to manage drive modes and volume for the first time.

Ambient lighting and upgraded materials confer the interior a lounge-like ambiance—and rear seat space increases significantly, with boot room now at around 475 litres.

Moving Mild-Hybrid

Propelling the new T-Roc are 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid engines, good for around 114 hp or 148 hp, both with a seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive. Regardless of battling traffic or cruising on the highway, they provide improved efficiency due to additional 48-volt electrification.

Buyers that desire more tech and efficiency will receive full-hybrid choices by mid-2026, with a high-performance T-Roc R coming in 2027.

There won't be a plug-in or battery-electric variant planned, with VW relying on hybrids to bridge to a fully electric future.

The new T-Roc takes more than style from its larger relatives. It gains Travel Assist for more fluid lane changes, Park Assist Pro for phone-directed parking moves, and exit warning systems to protect rear occupants. Features formerly reserved for upper-spec models now fit snugly into the compact SUV's arsenal.
