Installation of New Cameras for Monitoring Expired Vehicle Registrations in Ajman
The New Cameras and Their Activation
In line with the initiatives of the capital, Abu Dhabi, the Ajman Police are set to install and activate new cameras that will capture images of vehicles with expired registrations starting from July 1, 2018. These cameras will be integrated with the existing police traffic camera network and will identify vehicles whose registrations have lapsed, resulting in a fine of 500 AED, four black points, and seven days of impoundment.
Enhancing Road Safety
Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Police Operations in Ajman, stated: “Transitioning to the new digital system will help save time and enhance road safety. I urge drivers to renew their expired registrations to avoid fines and unpaid insurance claims in the event of an unfortunate accident.”
Complete CCTV Monitoring System
To strengthen road safety, a comprehensive CCTV monitoring system is being installed in the Emirate of Ajman to enhance security and prevent crime. Once deployed, the Ajman Police will benefit from deeper and broader coverage, improved response times, more accurate investigations, and tracking capabilities, along with increased transparency.
