Introduction to the Oman Auto Excellence Awards

The Oman Auto Excellence Awards are distinguished from other automotive accolades as they are the only awards organized by the industry in Oman. These awards provide an unbiased and independent platform for new car buyers to gain essential information before purchasing their next vehicle.

Nominations for the awards are divided into five major categories:

• Coupe / Convertibles
• Most Popular Car

Timeline of the Awards

The timeline for the awards is as follows:

1. Nominations close on 1^st September 2016
2. Test drives conducted on 28^th November 2016
3. Final awards ceremony held on 10^th December 2016

Judging Process

The judging process involves jurors meeting at the Oman Automobile Association’s track, where dealers deliver their nominated vehicles for each category. The process includes:

• A comprehensive test drive
• A detailed run-down of each automobile, including its rivals and market performance

Evaluation Criteria

Voting is based on various criteria including:

• Occupant Environment
• Performance
• Value
• Safety
• Emotional Appeal

Jurors independently fill out their evaluation forms for the nominated vehicles, followed by an assessment carried out by the judging panel in isolation, overseen by auditors, BDO.
