In his first season, Pierre Abou Diwan achieved victory in the Micro Max category of the UAE Rotax Max Challenge championship for 2022-2023. He faced tough competition from the top karting drivers during the grand challenge, but ultimately emerged victorious, earning the respect and admiration of the audience.
Pierre is getting ready to compete for the UAE in the upcoming 23rd Rotax MAX Challenge World Grand Finals, following his national championship win. The event is set to take place from December 2nd to December 9th, 2023, at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit in Sakhir. Nearly 300 exceptional drivers will participate in this thrilling tournament, which will be held at this location for the second time.
Pierre said, "I am very pleased with this victory that comes after great hard work and continuous training. I wish to thank everyone who helped me win this challenge - my team George Gibbons Motorsport (GGM), my coaches, and my school Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé Meydan, particularly my family, and parents, who have always been my greatest support."
He added, "Competing in the world finals with the best karting drivers from around the world is a great honor, and I am proud to be representing the UAE at this world championship."
Pierre, who hails from Lebanon, has been involved in karting since he was eight years old, showcasing his talent in the sport. He is currently putting in significant effort to get ready for the upcoming world challenge in Bahrain, which marks a significant milestone in Abou Diwan's journey towards the global karting scene.
Pierre's comments regarding his entry into the world of karting, "My friend Ray, who also competes in the championship, was already karting and invited me to try his kart. As soon as I got into it, I asked my dad if I could do it regularly, and he agreed."
